I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I work with adults, children, and adolescents in individual, couple, and family psychotherapy. My aim is to create a comfortable space within which to explore emotional, interpersonal, and behavioral difficulties. Through a collaborative process, I help patients discover connections between problematic patterns of thinking or relating, and the ongoing challenges they face. These connections between thoughts and feelings, past and present, internal experience and external situations can help a person think in new ways, generating possibilities for growth and change.

Professional Activities

I have practiced and taught psychotherapy for over thirty years. I am on the faculty of several psychoanalytic institutes in New York City where I teach and supervise candidates in psychoanalytic training. I also lead private study groups devoted to the study of contemporary psychoanalytic theory, with particular attention to the work of Melanie Klein. My private practice is dedicated to psychotherapy and psychoanalysis with adults, couples, children and adolescents. In my work with patients, I am dedicated to integrating current and culturally relevant practice with my extensive experience as a psychoanalytic psychologist.
